A glimpse of the fabulous roasts at The Anchor, Ripley. Yorkshire puddings bigger than a side plate, and my children were in heaven with such delicious crackling. Pictures of bicycles adorn the walls from when Ripley was a major cycle route from London, coming in at 23 miles from Westminster Bridge. In 1894, a policeman suggested that some 20,000 cyclists passed through Ripley in one day. Ashamed to say we drove there! Next time…
